First Nike + iPhone screenshots emerge

Running combo coming to Apple smartphone

Apple is set to introduce the Nike + iPod concept to the iPhone, judging by images published on French website iPhon.fr.

The images, which have not been verified by Apple, appear to show a Nike app on the main iPhone interface and include various screen captures demonstrating how the software works in use.

The basic components seem similar to those offered by the original Nike + iPod kit, although some are speculating that the iPhone version may make use of the new iPhone 3G's satnav capabilities by allowing runners to track progress using the handset's GPS feature. Another suggestion is that the iPhone's accelerometer could replace the sensor that's used in the current Nike + iPod kit to help measure distance travelled.
