The Carphone Warehouse has unveiled pricing for the Dell Streak, its tablet computer which goes onsale in the UK from Friday.

The Dell Streak is a Google Android-based tablet device that Dell first showed at the Consumer Electronics Show in January.

Not to be confused with Dell's Mini 3 smartphone that's on sale in a few emerging markets, the Streak has a larger, 5in touchscreen and looks like an iPhone but is bigger.

The Carphone Warehouse said the unlocked device would cost £429. However, it is also available on a £25 or a £35 per month tariff. The more expensive tariff includes unlimited calls and data.

The handheld computer is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and features two cameras: a webcam in the front that could potentially be used for videoconferencing, and a 5Mp camera on the back with dual LED flash.

The Dell Streak also offers support for micro SD cards up to 32GB and will operate over both Wi-Fi and mobile networks.
