Eee PC to get Nintendo Wii-like wireless gaming

Asus launches Eee Stick controllers

Nintendo Wii-like wireless gaming is coming to PCs, with Asus launching the Eee Stick, a package including two controllers that use motion sensors so people can bowl, slash swords and play other games on a PC.

The Eee Stick controllers are designed for PC gamers, not game console users, and will initially be bundled with Asus' Eee PC low-cost laptops and the company's new desktop Eee Box.

The Eee Stick will be available in mid-August and will work with PC game pads, mice and keyboards, connecting to the PC via USB ports. Next year, the Eee Sticks will be sold in packs with five to eight games.

So far, Asustek has only signed licensing agreements with a handful of game companies so their games can be used with Eee Stick. The company plans to talk with more companies, including Electronic Arts (EA) to expand game offerings.
