HP PCs come with Norton Online Backup trial

30-day trial includes 5GB of online space

Symantec is offering a 30-day free trial of its Norton Online Backup service to HP customers.

Consumers purchasing any HP laptop or desktop will find the software pre-installed on their machine and 5GB of secure online storage space. Once the trial expires, it will costs web users £19.99 to continue using the software and online space.

The software allows users to schedule backups or use the automatic backup function. Symantec also said the software uses advanced compression technology to ensure faster data transmission.

"We're very pleased that HP continues to choose Norton, this time to bring our new web-based backup service to HP customers worldwide," said Janice Chaffin, president of the Consumer Business Unit, Symantec.
