Tesco to sell Dell PCs from next month

Retail giant signs deal for UK and Europe

Dell has sealed a deal with Tesco that will see its desktop PCs and laptops appear in the retail chain's stores from January 2008.

UK customers will be able to buy Dell notebook and desktop computers either off the shelf in all Extra stores or online through Tesco Direct. The systems will appear in Tesco stores in Ireland, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia later next year.

"With over 15 million customers per week shopping at Tesco in the UK and another 15 million in Continental Europe, this deal will result in substantial exposure for Dell’s brands and products," said Mark Ormerod, Dell’s general manager for consumer PCs in EMEA.
