New Intel Classmate hits UK in February

Argos & Amazon to offer Zoostorm Fizzbook

A new version of the Intel Classmate will be hitting the UK shelves next month.

The Zoostorm Fizzbook is an updated version of the Intel Classmate, and features a 7in screen that swivels through 180 degrees and folds down to form a tablet PC. It will be available from Amazon and high street store Argos, for £349.

Initially developed as a low-cost way to provide computers to children in developing nations, the UK version of the Classmate comes with a 60GB hard-drive, 512MB of RAM, a water-resistant keyboard, built-in rotating camera and preloaded software including the simplified Windows-based interface Easybits Magic Desktop.

Gordon Graylish, deputy general manger of Intel Europe, told the BBC: "Education through technology can have a profound effect on children".
