Medion offers rebadged MSI Wind at Aldi

Laptop maker promises low price

Medion has become the latest computer supplier to offer a rebadged version of MSI's Wind mini laptop, with the Netbook E1210 set to hit the UK market this week.

The manufacturer announced at IFA that retailer Aldi will start selling the E1210 this week, and a company spokesperson said it would be cheaper than alternatives from PC World and the MSI Wind itself. Further details will be available on Aldi's site later this week, but expect the price to be below £300.

The Intel Atom-based E1210 has a 10in screen and runs Windows XP and will be available in Aldi stores from 7 September.

Medion plans to add a second model to its netbook line later this year. Although the company didn't provide specific details of the model at IFA, the spokesperson said it would be supplied by a different OEM, and would support built-in 3G.
