Asus announces high-end Eee PC S101

Top-of-the-range laptop will have 64GB SSD

Asus has added yet another model to its Eee PC range.

Like the Eee PC 901 and 1000, the Eee S101 will run the 1.6GHz Intel Atom chip, but with a price tag of $900 (£450), it will sit at the top of the Eee PC range.

The Eee S101 features an LED backlit 10.2in screen and includes a 64GB SSD, although a 32GB version will also be available for around $699 (£350).

Asus president Jerry Shen hinted that the Eee branding and name may be removed before the laptop is launched. However, he didn’t specify any potential alternative names for the device.
