More than two thirds of Brits will surf the web on Christmas Day, says the Post Office.

According to research conducted by the company, web users will spend an average of 84 minutes online, which is around 25 percent longer than last year.

Grabbing some bargains in the online sales was one of the most popular online activities that web users claimed they would be indulging in. The research also revealed that 5 percent will use the internet to check how long their turkey will take to cook.

Post Office spokesman Stewart Fox-Mills said: "We have seen a real explosion in the adoption of broadband in recent years, with close on two thirds of households now having access".
