Tesco has announced it will launch a music streaming service called Blinkboxmusic later this year.
The service will follow Tesco's acquisition of We7 in June of 2012 and rival services such as Spotify. Tesco will also launch Blinkboxbooks after buying Mobcast in September last year.

To head up Blinkboxmusic and Blinkboxbooks, Tesco has taken on Mark Bennett from Sainsbury's and Gavin Sathianathan from Facebook respectively.

Blinkboxmusic and Blinkboxbooks will sit alongside Tesco Clubcard TV which is powered by Blinkbox and offers Clubcard holders free streaming of TV shows and films. Clubcard TV has been announced but is currently in a closed Beta testing stage.
