TalkTalk's Broadband Essentials deal has been named the 'Best broadband package' by Broadband.

The essentials package offers net connection with speeds of 'up to' 24Mbps, along with a 40GB download limit and free evening and weekend calls for £6.99 per month plus line rental.

The ISP was also named 'Best broadband and home phone provider' in the comparison website's annual awards, while Sky took the award for the 'Best broadband and TV' package.

The winners were chosen based on data from over 1.5 million speed tests and customer ratings conducted on the website over the past 12 months.

Virgin Media once again won the 'Fastest home broadband' category, while Vodafone came top in the 'Fastest mobile broadband' award. Plusnet was named the 'Best value home broadband' provider and 3 came top in the 'best vale mobile broadband' category.

Other winners included BT Infinity, the ISP super-fast fibre broadband service currently being rolled-out across the UK, which was given the Broadband innovation award and Orange in the 'Best customer benefits' category.
