Rentokil Initial is deploying a cloud computing based human resources system to manage its 66,000 employees spread across the world.
The pest controller and cleaning specialist is using the Workday software-as-a-service HR system, which fits into the firm's "Programme Olympic" strategic plan, a company-wide effort to increase efficiency in its administrative and operational processes.
With Workday as its global HR system, Rentokil Initial will have a single source of actionable information about its workforce, accessible in the Workday cloud. Workday's business process framework will enable Rentokil Initial to meet the diverse needs of each region without requiring the development or use of custom software code.
Rentokil Initial already uses other cloud-based solutions, including the Google Apps software service for email and collaboration, Ariba for its main procurement tool, and Cornerstone OnDemand for global online learning.

In September, it was announced that market data and news company Thomson Reuters had moved its human resources and payroll data to a cloud computing environment.
The company, which has more than 55,000 employees in over 100 countries, chose to use Workday's SaaS offerings instead of upgrading its existing HR system.
