A large number of subscribers to Orange’s broadband service have been unable to use their connection since yesterday, according to reports.
The company revealed to the BBC that a "network equipment failure" was the cause of the fault, which is believed to have occurred at 4pm yesterday afternoon.
"We are currently experiencing network issues preventing some users from accessing their broadband service," says a statement on Orange's website. "We have engineers working on these issues now and apologise for the inconvenience caused."
The company has yet to respond to requests for further information, and hasn't revealed when it expects the network to be up and running again.
Orange's broadband service was previously sold under the Wanadoo brand, which itself replaced the Freeserve brand. Parent company France Telecom united its UK mobile and broadband under the Orange banner in May this year.
