One third of Brits will take their smartpone or laptop on holiday, says Lexmark.

Research by the printer manufacturer revealed that one in three said they frequently worked from home outside of office hours, with a quarter trying to catch up on duties in the evenings.

A further 20 percent said they expected the amount of time spent working from home outside office hours to increase this year as a result of the recession.

Paul Callow, marketing director at Lexmark UK, said: "Recession fears and job worries mean staff are reluctant to cut themselves off from their work. In the past, holidays have been a great opportunity for professionals to unwind and relax, but the current economic climate means people prefer to stay connected so they feel in control even when they're away from the office."
