Men spend more time than women looking at their friends' status updates and profiles on social networks, says Orange.
The mobile network's Digital Media Index revealed that men account for 65 percent of all Brits that acess their social networking profile from a mobile phone and men also view around a third more pages than women during visits to sites such as Facebook, Twitter and other social networks from their handset.
Orange said nearly two million of its customers use their handset to access the web, and on average, social networks experience over one billion page impressions from handsets every month.

Sport accounts for half of all mobile TV viewing while the research names Sky Sports 1 as the most popular TV channel viewed from handsets, attracting a quarter of all those that watch TV on their mobile phone.
The mobile network said Fight for this Love by Cheryl Cole was the most downloaded music video in the 12 month since the previous survey was carried out.
When it comes to text and picture messages, women tend to send more than men in a bid to keep in touch with friends and family.
"We were keen to delve deeper and offer an insight into how customers use their mobile handsets," said Deborah Tonroe, head of entertainment and information at Orange.
"The report really does reveal some interesting results and shows that users really are using their mobile handsets for more than just voice and text."
