BT has announced it is cutting the cost of using its Wi-Fi hotspots.
Users of the BT Openzone's per-minute tariff can now get online for 15p per minute (ppm), instead of 20ppm.
BT has also overhauled its range of Wi-Fi packages. The BT original service, which offers users 500 minutes of online time from BT Openzone, BT FON and BT Business Total Broadband hotspots, now costs £5 a month.
The company has also created two new packages. One is the £12.50-per-month BT Openzone Together, which offers unlimited surfing time at BT Openzone, BT FON and BT Business Total Broadband hotspots as well as 500 UK roaming minutes. Also available is BT Openzone Global, which is priced at £28 per month, and provides unlimited BT Openzone, BT FON, BT Business Total Broadband hotspot minutes alongside 500 minutes of UK and 500 minutes of international roaming.
BT has also reduced the charge for users exceeding their monthly allocation. Users will now be charged 10p per minute for any extra surfing time once their allowance has been used.
As well as the price cuts, the telecoms company announced it is adding 2,500 more hotspots around Europe.
