Google Apps are down for some users

Various Google apps have been hit with outages this morning.

Having trouble accessing your Gmail account and other Google apps? You're not the only one. Users across the Web are finding intermittent service outages.

According to Google's App Status Dashboard, in addition to the service disruptions for Gmail, users may notice problems with Google Drive, Docs, Spreadsheets, and Presentations, as well as a complete service outage for the Admin control panel / API.

A quick survey of our associates has found outages reported around the world and will sometimes affect some accounts, but not others.

Here are just a few of many comments on the issue from PCWorld's FB page.

Google has released a statement commenting that they are aware of the problem. "We are currently investigating issues with Gmail, Drive and Docs as well as the Google Apps Control Panel. We are providing more information and frequent updates through our Google Apps Status Dashboard."

UPDATE:

It appears everything is in the clear. A statement from Google:

The problem with Google Mail should be resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support. Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better.
