Underwater Street View on Google Maps

Google has got its snorkel out and added the first set of underwater panoramic image to Street View on Google Maps.

Now you can virtually swim with fish, rays and turtles on the World's famous reefs. Google has added locations in Australia, Hawaii and the Philippines in its goal to provide the best and most usable map of the world.

Google said: "With these vibrant and stunning photos you don’t have to be a scuba diver—or even know how to swim—to explore and experience six of the ocean’s most incredible living coral reefs. Now, anyone can become the next virtual Jacques Cousteau,"

The internet giant has partnered with The Catlin Seaview Survey to capture the images of the coral reefs. The images were taken with a SVII camera controlled by a specially made underwater tablet. Locations include the Great Barrier Reef, Hanauma Bay, Molokini Crater and the Philippines Apo Island.

The move comes after users complained about Apple's new mapping system brought with iOS 6 on the iPhone 5. Apple said that the Maps app in iOS 6 isn't finishedSee also: How to get Google Maps back in iOS 6
