Facebook has announced the App Center which will show off the best apps around.
The App Center will be rolled out in the coming weeks and feature Apple App Store, Google Play Store, mobile and web apps. It will be accessible via the Facebook apps on iOS and Android and Facebook's website.
Facebook said: "For the over 900 million people that use Facebook, the App Center will become the new, central place to find great apps,"
"Everything has an app detail page, which helps people see what makes an app unique and lets them install it before going to an app."
As well as a place to discover apps across multiple platforms, the App Centre will allow developers to promote apps with the app detail page – a kind of profile page for an app.
"Success through the App Center is tied to the quality of an app. We use a variety of signals, such as user ratings and engagement, to determine if an app is listed in the App Center." said Facebook.
Giving the App Center a premium feel Facebook said that 'well-designed' apps get pride of place while ones with poor user ratings won't be listed at all. As well as linking to apps for devices like smartphones, developers will also have the option to list paid-for apps to be used on Facebook.
