iTunes 11 in the works at Apple

Apple has begun internally seeding the next major release of iTunes - report

Apple has begun internally seeding iTunes 11, the next major release of iTunes for Mac and PC.

That's according to 9to5Mac, which claims unnamed sources have said that work on the new version of Apple's iTunes began before iTunes 10.6 was released in March.

The report claims that iTunes 11 does not have a different aesthetic design, but has improved iCloud integration, with a new iCloud settings panel accessible from within iTunes itself. 9to5Mac says that the panel is "a centralised, always accessible spot for users to control iCloud related features while in iTunes. These features include iTunes Match, iTunes in the Cloud, iCloud iOS device backups and more."

It is expected that Apple will release iTunes 11 alongside iOS 6, but 9to5Mac points out that another iTunes 10.x update making the software compatible with iOS 6 could be more likely.

iTunes users are hoping for a complete overhaul in the next update, after complaints about syncing difficulties and overcomplicated ways of getting things done within the software.
