SOCA shuts down music website

rnbxclusive.com offered links to tracks

A music- related website that offered links to tracks has been taken down by the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA).

Visitors to rnbxclusive.com will now see a holding page created by SOCA that reveals the founders of the website have been arrested for fraud.

“The majority of music files that were available via this site were stolen from the artists,” the message on the website reads.

“If you have downloaded music using this website you may have committed a criminal offence which carries a maximum penalty of up to 10 years imprisonment and an unlimited fine under UK law.”

The website then details the visitor’s IP address, browser, operating system and the time the visit occurred adding the information can be used to “identify you and your location”.

“SOCA has the capability to monitor and investigate you, and can inform your internet service provider of these infringements. You may be liable for prosecution.”

SOCA confirmed an arrest relating to rnbxclusive.com had been made and that site breached the terms and conditions of the firm it used to host the site.
