35 hours of video uploaded to YouTube every minute

That's 50,400 hours every day

More than 35 hours of video is uploaded to YouTube every minute.

The Google-owned video-sharing site revealed that's 2,100 hours of video clips every hour, or 50,400 hours every day.

"If three of the major US networks were broadcasting 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for the last 60 years, they still wouldn't have broadcast as much content as is uploaded to YouTube every 30 days," Google said.

Google added that the maximum length of videos upload has increased by 50 percent to 15 minutes, while the average file is now 2GB in size.

The video-sharing site called for web users to attempt to upload 48 hours of video every minute.

"That's right: two full days and 100 percent growth from what we achieved back in March of 2010," a spokesperson said.
