Virgin offers students 9-month broadband deal

Short-term contract for term time

Virgin Media has unveiled a broadband package aimed at students, which runs for just nine months.

The shorter contracts mean that university students won't find themselves forking out for broadband use over the summer holidays when they're likely to have returned home.

Prices start at £20 per month for speeds of 'up to' 10Mbps. Alternatively, students can get their hands on a £30 broadband package with speeds of 'up to' 20Mbps, with a £10 discount for the first two months.

Those that also take a Virgin phone line for £11.99 per month will get the 20Mbps broadband package and unlimited weekend and evening landline calls for £20 per month. A £10 discount will also be applied for the first two months.

Students in position of a valid NUS card will also find they don't have to pay the £20 activation fee. The short contract is only being offered until October 31.
