UK ISP Demon has unveiled a broadband package aimed at gamers providing prioritised bandwidth and download speeds of 'up to' 20Mbps.
Brits that take up the £21.99-per-month Demon Game Pro service will also be offered upload speeds of 'up to' 1Mbps, along with a free wireless router and a 24-hour, UK-based tech support team, many of whom Demon says are avid gamers.
Users will also get a free static IP address, which Demon says provides an option for gamers to host their own game servers.
The service is subject to a 12-month contract and comes with a 100GB download limit per month, enforced between 8am and 11pm.
However, the ISP believes this is twice the amount gamers need, following a consultation with gaming firms.
We know how important a good broadband connection is to the gaming community," said Matt Cantwell, head of Demon.
"At Demon we appreciate that a better connection allows better gaming, and are confident that gamers will see the benefits that this service offers them.
Demon was bought by THUS in May 1998 and then subsequently acquired by Cable&Wireless Worldwide in 2008. Earlier this year it tweaked its broadband deals to offer Brits better download limits.
