SeeSaw UK to offer House and other NBC shows

Episodes will cost from 99p

Online TV catch-up service SeeSaw will offer shows from NBC Universal such as Heroes and House, following a deal with the US TV giant.

The shows will be available in the service's paid-for offering, which was first launched in May.

An individual episode, which is expected to cost around 99p, can be 'rented' for 30 days although viewers have 48 hours to watch the show from the moment it is played for the first time.

Entire seasons will also be available for between £3.99 and £17.99. This gives viewers 90 days to watch the series, although like individual episode rentals, viewers have 48 hours to watch the show from the moment it is first played.

House is one of the NBC shows now available on SeeSaw

SeeSaw is a free service that uses the technology originally employed for the Project Kangaroo venture. It was made publicly available in February, after less than a month of a closed beta trial of 20,000 web users. Around 3,000 hours of TV programmes from the BBC, Channel 4 and Five are available.

Similar to music-streaming service Spotify, the free content available is peppered with 60-second adverts that can not be skipped.

Alternatively, the premium service offers around 1,000 hours of paid-for shows from broadcasters including Comedy Central, BBC Worldwide and MTV.

"TV lovers are already enjoying thousands of great shows across a range of genres on SeeSaw.com. The addition of NBC Universal's high quality comedy and drama output will deliver further choice and underlines our ambition to offer the best online TV service in the UK," said John Keeling, platform controller at SeeSaw.
