Sky launches 3DTV football 'pub finder'

Watch Manchester United vs. Chelsea on 3DTV

Sky has launched an online 'pub finder', which allows football fans to locate the nearest pub showing Sky's new 3D channel.

Sky's 3D TV channel will start broadcasting on Saturday April 3 with the Premiership match between Manchester United and Chelsea.

A further five Premiership games will also be broadcast on Sky 3D before the current football season ends on May 9, along with the Coca-Cola Football League Play-Off finals later in the month.

Web users can enter their postcode into the pub finder to discover which of the estimated 1,500 venues that have purchased a 3D TV are closest to them.

Sky said it been working hard to ensure the vast majority of pubs on the finder have been kitted out with 3D TVs and 3D glasses in time for the match.

Consumers with a Sky HD box that subscribe to the broadcaster's top channels will also be able to access the 3D service, providing they have a compatible 3D TV set and 3D glasses.

Sky said later in the year its 3D TV service will offer a range of movies, sport, documentaries, entertainment and arts content.
