Disney World goes 3D in Google Earth

Over 3,000 3D models now available

Google and Walt Disney have joined forces to bring the theme park to life via Google Earth, with a new feature allowing computer users to explore the destination in 3D.

Walt Disney World Resort in 3D allows Google Earth users to explore rides, streets, and hotels across the Orlando theme parks and more than 20 of Disney's Resort hotels. Over 3,000 3D models are available.

"From the summit of Space Mountain to the watery confines of the Pirates of the Caribbean, we invite you to explore the Walt Disney World Resort in Google Earth. It's the next best thing to being there," said Jay Rasulo, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, in a posting on one of Google's blogs.

Google Earth is available as a free download from here.
