Amazon's Consumables division is looking to hire a senior wine buyer for its Specialty Foods Group, suggesting that wine could soon join the growing list of goods available from the giant e-tailer's site.

An Amazon spokeswoman said the company wasn't commenting beyond the job ad, which was posted last Wednesday.

According to the posting, the senior buyer must have broad experience in the wine industry and will be responsible for the "acquisition of massive new product selection" and "will work to build out our entirely new selection from the ground up".
