90% of UK web users are on broadband

Stats show growth of Broadband Britain

The Office of National Statistics has revealed that nearly 90 percent of UK internet users are using broadband, rather than dial-up.

The figures also reveal that broadband take-up is slowing down, though usage has climbed 26 percent in the last 12 months.

The confirmed slow-down in take-up leaves fears that the digital divide between UK people with and without internet access could become accentuated.
