Yahoo unveils new social networking mobile app

Keep up-to-date on all your social networks

Yahoo has unveiled a mobile app designed to help consumers keep up to date on the latest happenings on a number of different social networks.

The Yahoo! OneConnect app, which is expected to launch in the UK in Q2, can be downloaded onto your phone and is compatible with Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Bebo and other social networks.

By using the app you'll be able to see the latest Tweets on Twitter, alongside images that your friends have recently uploaded on Flickr and even messages left on your wall on Facebook, all without having to navigate to the different sites.

The app even lets you IM or email your friends using the social networks.

The search engine also released details about a new add-on to its search facility.

SearchPad is a "note taking application built into Yahoo! Search" that quickly and easily allows users to copy and paste information, links to web pages they've found through Yahoo! Search, and even their own notes into one document which can be printed or saved for future use.

Yahoo said SearchPad will be rolled out in the UK in May.
