Facebook Connect offers in-site browsing

Let your friends comment on your browsing habits

Facebook has launched Connect - a new service that lets you browse other websites from within the social networking site and then share your activities with their friends.

Announced in May this year in response to a rival service offered by MySpace, Facebook Connect also allows you to enter sites such as Digg and the Discovery Channel using your Facebook login details. The service will then provide details on the browsing activities in your news feed to allow your friends to comment on it.

Facebook revealed that it would carefully considered what websites intended to do with the information they gather from Facebook users before allowing them to sign up to the Connect service.
