Mobile broadband and laptop packages on the up

Bundles account for 27% of mobile broadband sales

Mobile broadband packages that feature a free laptop are growing in popularity, according to broadband comparison site Top 10 Broadband.

According to the website mobile broadband and laptop bundles from operators such as 3 and T-Mobile, accounted for just four percent of the of total mobile broadband sales in July this year but now account for over 27 percent of the total sales.

"This suggests laptop-bundles will overtake stand-alone mobile broadband sales by the end of the year," says Jessica McArdle from Top 10 Broadband.

"With broadband and free laptop deals starting at £25 a month, laptops have never been so affordable or attractive to a British public looking to curb their spending in the run up to credit crunch Christmas."

Reseller Phones 4U, which is also offering mobile broadband packages complete with free laptops, confirmed the growing trend.

"Since launching laptop-broadband deals on Phones4u.co.uk, we have seen significant sales growth month-on-month and predict that laptop-broadband deals will be top-sellers this Christmas," said a Phones 4U Spokesperson.
