BT gives business users free mobile broadband

One USB stick and 1GB data allowance per subscription

BT is offering small businesses users free mobile broadband access as part of its BT Business Total Broadband packages.

The BT Business Total Broadband options 2 and 3 will now include one Mobile Broadband USB stick per contract with 1GB of usage. The telecommunications company claims mobile broadband offers speeds of up to 7.2MB per second (MBps) over mobile networks.

BT's Access Manager software can be used to automatically detect the fastest and most reliable method of connection for users, whether its through BT Openzone Wi-Fi hotspots or mobile broadband. Prices start from £26.99 per month for option 2, which comes with unlimited fixed line broadband access and 2,000 Wi-Fi minutes. Option 3 costs £40.50 and also features five internet security packs and an IT support manager for technical help.

Bill Murphy, managing director of BT Business, said: "Free mobile broadband for businesses has arrived. It brings together the complementary worlds of 3G, Wi-Fi and fixed-line broadband for customers in a truly powerful converged offering."

BT Business Mobile Broadband is also available on its own. Priced at £17.50 a month, it offers unlimited use of both Wi-Fi and mobile broadband. However, this is subject to a fair usage policy capped at 3GB of mobile data and 4,000 Wi-Fi minutes per month.
