YouTube slated for 'Neo-Nazi' clips

Footage outrages Germany’s Jewish community

YouTube has been criticised in Germany for hosting video clips that are offensive and encourage racial hatred.

The content uploaded by YouTube users included music videos from rock band Landser which feature footage of Nazi military operations and excerpts from a 1940 anti-Semetic propaganda film Jud Suess. The clips have been viewed on the site hundreds of thousands of times.

A news report on Report Mainz, aired on German television earlier this week, said German youth protection body Jugendschutz.net had complained over 100 times to Google Germany.

Salomon Korn, vice president of Germany’s Central Council of Jews, also wants the government to investigate Google and YouTube for hosting the videos.
