Bournemouth has the fastest average broadband speeds in the UK, says Top 10 Broadband.
The broadband comparison website analysed data from speed tests carried out on its website to reveal that Bournemouth residents enjoy average download speeds of 8Mbps - that's nearly twice as fast as Ofcom's national average of 4.1Mbps.
Portsmouth came second with an average download speed of 7.82Mbps, while Dudley, Luton and Hartlepool made up the rest of the top five with average download speeds of 7.03, 6.97 and 6.90Mbps respectively. London failed to make the top 10.
Alex Buttle from Top 10 Broadband said: "The numbers are clear - Bournemouth's residents are enjoying significantly faster broadband than anywhere else in the country, making it easier for them to watch TV online and download the latest music and movies.
"It just goes to show that people in big cities like London and Birmingham aren't necessarily getting the UK's best internet speeds and people definitely need to shop around to make sure they are getting the best experience and value."
