Sony has promised a number of "very unique" game titles for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) later this year.
Outside of Final Fantasy: Crisis Core, Secret Agent Clank, and a line-up of additional sports games, Sony marketing manager John Koller said he didn't want to "scoop" anything, but that some "very unique" titles are coming later this year, with a focus on "franchise umbrellas".
In terms of downloadable games, Koller said consumer education will be a hurdle in the coming months because the PSP store is still in its infancy. "The Store will be very, very important for Sony and for the PSP's future," he said, including both PS1 and PS2 re-releases.

Koller also mentioned that upcoming PSP peripherals will include a keyboard (for internet browsing), camera and North American version of the GPS add-on planned for release this autumn.
To date, Sony has sold more than 31 million PSP systems worldwide. By comparison, Nintendo has sold more than 65 million global DS units.

I have to say I love the fact I can download demos and full games off the PSN. I have been playing Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee for the PSP that I bought off the PSN and saved $10 off the UMD version. Online distribution of PSP titles is definitely the way to go. Mr. Koller is right, they need to get the news out to PSP owners about the PSN store, I only knew of it because of my PS3.

I am a 42 year old mom. My husband my son and I all have PSP's. We each use them for different stuff. Like I love the Pod casts.
I love the Play Station store. I buy one game and can have it on all three PSP's. This is a grate way to get games that you can play another PSP with. My husband and I play head to head on Sol Com.
He kicked me off a cliff in the game. I will get him for that.
We love our PSP's Sony your doing a grate job!
Nintendo sucks!
