Some Nexus devices getting over the air update to 4.2 Jelly Bean
Google is reportedly rolling out updates to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean for some smartphone and tablet users.
It seems that existing Nexus owners are getting updated to the latest version of Android, 4.2 Jelly Bean. The news comes after Google launched its Nexus 4 smartphone and Nexus 10 tablet which both ship with 4.2 Jelly Bean.
A US user on Google+ posted a picture of the update and said: "What the...I have a Galaxy Nexus. Must be my lucky day."
Google has made no announcement on when 4.2 Jelly Bean will roll out in the UK to Nexus devices. The Register reports that Nexus 7 users were also getting the update starting yesterday.
We have both the Nexus 7 and Samsung Galaxy Nexus in the PC Advisor office and so far no updates are available, but a reader has confirmed that the update was available for the latter yesterday morning.
However, Jean-Baptiste Queru, technical lead for the Android Open Source Project at Google, said: "there is no support for 4.2 on Nexus S and [Motorola] Xoom. Those devices should continue using 4.1.2."
If you can't wait for the over the air (OTA) update then Google has made the factory images available for devices supporting 4.2 Jelly Bean and posted instructions on how to do the update manually. We recommend you wait for the automatic update unless you're confident with the process.
When you do get 4.2 Jelly Bean it will bring new features including Photo Sphere for 360 degree panoramics, lockscreen widgets and gesture typing on the keyboard.

Cunningham1420 said: Make sure you clear the data 1st from the Google Services Framework then hit Force Stop then turn your Nexus 7 off and restart it then you should have the update pop up right after you reboot Yesterday I was doing the above and just hitting check for system updates and nothing was happening but when I did the above and turned it off it got the update
