Hurricane Sandy might have put plans for Google's Nexus 4 launch event in turmoil, but that hasn't stopped the search giant unveiling three new Nexus devices on the day Microsoft takes the wraps off Windows Phone 8. As well as unveiling a Nexus 4 smartphone and Nexus 10 tablet, Google has refreshed its Nexus 7 line-up with a higher-capacity 32GB model, which now offers even better value, plus a Wi-Fi + 3G version.

Previously available in 8- and 16GB versions, Google's Nexus 7 was the first pocket-sized tablet able to attack high-end rival devices not only in features but in price. It cost £159 for the 8GB version, and £199 for the 16GB model. Read our original Google Nexus 7 review.

We revealed last week that Argos had let the 32GB cat out the bag, publishing in its Christmas gift catalogue a 32GB model for £199. And only this morning, PC Advisor reader 'Thumper' confirmed that he had indeed bought a 32GB Google Nexus 7 at PC World. Google has now confirmed the news by refreshing its Nexus 7 line-up at Google Play.

As before, the Google Nexus 7 has a 7in, 1280x800 IPS screen and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on an nVidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor with 1GB RAM. The only change in Google's October 29 revision is the storage capacity, plus the addition of a 3G version.

Now offering better value than ever before, Google is selling its Nexus 7 tablet at £159 with 16GB of storage - £110 less than the same-capacity iPad mini. There is also a 32GB Wi-Fi-only Google Nexus 7 for £199, and a 32GB Wi-Fi + 3G model for £239.
