Asus failing to fix Transformer TF101 problems

Asks for more time to resolve glitches

Asus is asking its Transformer tablet owners to be patient while it tries to fix problems introduced with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). UPDATE: Asus 'fixes' EeePad Transformer TF101 with ICS update... again

The firm rollout out the upgrade to its customers a month ago but has yet to successfully fix technical issues caused by the up-to-date operating system. Asus is asking Transformer owners to hang on while it works on rectifying the problems.

Asus said on Facebook: "We know many of you are experiencing issues with your Transformer TF101 following the firmware update to ICS. We appreciate how frustrating it is to have problems with your favourite gadget and we at Asus UK want to assure you that our software engineers in Taiwan are working hard on getting this sorted. We ask for, and appreciate your patience in waiting for the release of an update."

The statement comes over a week after a firmware update was released to fix the problems. Unfortunately the solution didn't have the desired effect leaving users with infuriating crashes, random reboots, and battery issues which came with ICS.

While some customers appreciate the update and the company's honesty a second fix which actually sorts out the problems is overdue. The Facebook post did announced a firmware update, but for the Transformer Prime TF201.

"In TF201 news we have a new FOTA update which we expect by the end of the week so stay tuned. It offers new features and increased stability. As always we will keep you up to date with any progress on firmware updates to all our products right here on our Facebook page." said Asus.
