Capcom and GameStop have released an image of a protective 3DS case that those who preorder Resident Evil Revelations can get their hands on -- and quietly confirmed the release date in the process.

The game, which was looking pretty good at Gamescom, is set to hit North American store shelves on February 7 of next year. It offers episodic, stereoscopic Resident Evil adventuring featuring Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield and a host of other characters in a variety of sticky situations as they race to uncover the truth behind the T-Abyss virus outbreak.

The 3DS case itself features a porthole motif -- a reference to the game's shipboard setting -- and is light-sensitive, with a big scary eye and game logo appearing when it gets dark.

Preorder the game now from GameStop to make sure you get your case. Online customers will get it when the game ships; in-store purchasers will get it at the time of purchase.
