20th Century Fox plans Sims: The movie

Big name producer and writer to work on project

20th Century Fox has secured the rights to turn the Sims game into a movie.

The popular game, which has accumulated $1.9 billion in revenue for Electronic Arts (EA), enables players to control animated characters and interact with other characters in a variety of environments.

The film will feature real actors, rather than the animations that feature in the PC game. John Davis, who has worked on films such as Alien Vs Predator and Eragon, will produce the movie and Brian Lynch, who has worked on Scary Movie 3, will write the script. Head of the Sims studio, Rod Humble, will manage the project for EA.
