Microsoft's game developer Bungie has announced a September release date for Halo 3, months earlier than expected.
"We said Fall 2007, but did you expect Halo 3's release date to be just two days into the fall?"- official Bungie.net forum announcement
The news is somewhat surprising given that the two previous games launched in November, a crucial period for holiday game sales.
By releasing Halo 3 in September, Microsoft's Xbox 360 will get a boost from early holiday shoppers and will ride that momentum into November and early December, the watermark game console shopping months.
