Microsoft’s Xbox 360 is not selling well throughout Europe, according to an interview in the San Jose Mercury News with Nintendo of America boss, Reggie Fils Aime.
In the interview Fils-Aime says that the 360 is “selling well only in one country: UK. Across the rest of Europe it is not performing well”.
He went on to point out that Nintendo’s Wii, on the other hand, is “selling exceptionally well all through Europe”.
According to sales figures from February released by the researcher NPD Group, US retailers sold 228,000 Xbox 360s and 335,000 Wiis.>
Fils-Aimes said that in addition to being the top-seller in the US and Japan, Nintendo’s Wii console is “selling out as soon as they’re putting it into the marketplace” in Europe too.
Microsoft has also cut its yearly estimate for the Xbox 360 from between 13 and 15 million units to 12 million by the end of June.
