Call of Duty: Black Ops II's multiplayer will be getting an upgrade with the release of the "Revolution" Downloadable Content (DLC) Pack.
The DLC will initially be available on January 30 exclusively on Xbox LIVE for the Xbox 360, with other platforms to follow at a later unannounced date.
Treyarch studio head, Mark Lamia, says the team set out to "challenge assumptions about what fans should expect" from Call of Duty with Black Ops II, and Revolution is not an exception.
"It starts with the massive amount of content that Revolution offers: four distinct multiplayer maps, an entirely new Zombies map and new Zombies mode, and a new bonus weapon," he said.
"It's the variety of new gameplay options in Revolution that sets it apart, making it our most compelling DLC offering to date, and a must-play experience for Call of Duty fans."
Revolution consists of the French Alps themed "Downhill," hydroelectric dam "Hydro," dilapidated desert luxury resort "Mirage," and skate park focsed "Grind" maps.
A bonus multiplayer weapon, the "Peacekeeper," also makes its debut in the DLC, which comes accompanied by its own set of weapon challenges for additional XP.
Revolution also includes a new and original Zombies map, "Die Rise," as well as a new game mode, "Turned," where players can complete against each other as a zombie.
The DLC pack is first of four schedule for Call of Duty: Black Ops II, and will retail for $20 or 1200 Microsoft Points.
The DLC packs can be bought individually or as part of the Call of Duty: Black Ops II DLC Season Pass Discounted Bundle, which retails for $69.95 or 4000 Microsoft Points.
