Long-time Halo multiplayer fans will be well familiar with Halo 2's Headlong map, offering large scale vehicle friendly online mayhem. The map has been reimagined and rebranded "Breakneck" in the upcoming Halo: Anniversary, and will provide plenty of entertainment for 8-16 players when the game releases in mid-November.
Alongside the announcement of this new map for Halo: Anniversary, 343 Industries has also announced an upcoming Title Update for Halo: Reach. Among other balance-related changes, this update will reintroduce the Magnum pistol from Halo: Combat Evolved as well as "classic" playlists offering old-school Halo competition. The Title Update will release alongside Halo: Anniversary in November, but beta playlists to test these "classic" modes will be available from October 4 to current Xbox Live Gold subscribers.
Balance changes in the Title Update will include customizable reticle bloom on weapons; damage bleedthrough to health when shields are depleted; tweaks to Armor Lock and Active Camo to make them more balanced; removing the ability to block sword attacks with non-sword weapons; and adding the ability to play co-op Campaign and Firefight levels without needing a hard drive.
