Invade Your Desk with Namco Bandai Desktop Gremlins

The art of folding paper into entertaining shapes has been around since some 17th century Japanese people discovered a really entertaining party trick and called it "origami." But it seems that in the last year or two, the popularity of paper-related crafts has grown among the less dextrous, particularly among those promoting video games. Earlier in the year, for example, the special edition of The Witcher 2 came with a rather angry-looking papercraft Geralt with which you could adorn your desk.

Namco Bandai is the latest company to join the papercraft party thanks to a collaboration with David Landis, creator of Desktop Gremlins. Desktop Gremlins provide a nicely accessible route into papercraft as they don't require anything more than a pair of scissors and some nice letter-size paper -- preferably glossy photo paper. Assembling one of the projects takes about ten minutes and you end up with your desk becoming an advertisement for one or more of Namco Bandai's upcoming titles.

Currently available are Desktop Gremlins for Pac-Man, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, Soul Calibur V and Dark Souls.

Print them out now so you have something game-related to do the next time your household suffers a blackout and you've forgotten to charge all your handhelds.
