Tetris Now Available for Free on Android

Tetris is the quintessential handheld game, thanks to its long-standing association with Nintendo's original Game Boy. Over the years, we've seen ports to every platform under the sun, including modern smartphones which, for some people, are starting to replace handhelds.

EA knows the game's popularity, and also knows that people like free stuff. As such, it's released a free version of Tetris on to the Android Marketplace from today. The game features the classic Marathon mode made famous by the Game Boy original as well as the iconic Tetris music. The game also features stat tracking for players keen to improve their game. Those who want a bit more variety from their Tetris experience can always upgrade to the paid version at a later date. This version adds an extra "Magic" mode involving powerups alongside the standard Marathon style.
