Sonic CD Debuting on Android

Although Sonic CD will be viewable on Xbox 360 at PAX, it looks like Android users are going to get the first crack this classic platformer.

PC Mag reports that Sega has confirmed as such, saying that Sonic CD will be releasing on mobile phones and major consoles, but Google's platform comes first. Given the rise of interest in Android during the last year, it's not terribly surprising that the mobile section would get first dibs. All that remains to be seen is how long which version remain exclusive to their consoles.

PC Mag elaborates on it further:

Sega released a statement saying Sonic CD is heading to other "mobile phones and consoles everywhere" by the end of 2012. The decision to release on Android as the debut may go to show how favorable Google's platform is for developers since there are far fewer hoops to jump through, such as needing to wait for approval and release date scheduling.
