Frozen Synapse Patch Adds Tournament Play

Indie turn-based strategy title Frozen Synapse has received its first major patch, with the Steam version to follow next week

Frozen Synapse developer Mode 7 has done a consistently great job of engaging with the community and responding to feedback since well before the game launched to the public. Now, the officially-released version of the game has received its first major patch, with a significant number of tweaks and fixes based on community feedback as well as some new features.

The most significant new feature is the addition of a tournament mode, designed to allow competition between larger groups rather than the game's traditional one-on-one play. Individual matches are still two player only, but the tournament structure allows for larger groups to indulge in an "everyone plays everyone" mini-championship.

In recent days, the team has also been working hard to merge the sharded servers -- a necessary move where, upon the game's launch, it sold significantly more copies than the developer was expecting.

Check out the full list of changes in the new patch here -- an official release will follow on Steam next week.
