Mad Catz Signs Game-Publishing Deal with Microsoft

Mad Catz, best known as one of the more prolific and successful third-party peripheral manufacturers, has reached an agreement with Microsoft to become a publisher of software for the Xbox 360.

"The execution of the Xbox 360 Publisher License Agreement marks an important milestone as we pursue our longer term goal of expanding our participation in developing, publishing and distributing games," said Darren Richardson, President and CEO of Mad Catz.

Mad Catz already develops flight simulation software under its ThunderHawk Studios brand and distributes games for third parties, so it's not a huge leap for the company to start publishing its own titles.

Can we soon expect games specifically designed to work best with Mad Catz peripherals, then?
